Looking into a class at BDC...
Hi – Happy May! Still want to hear what you love about dance classes!!! Feel free to use poetry or pictures or words… Also do you know of dance classes or studios in Jerusalem this summer? One of my students is going so if we could help her out that would be great!!! See her post below…
Hey I am thinking about having a tip of the week – a video clip – for stretches and exercises and ways to execute balletic steps etc- would you be interested in this and what would you like to know? please drop me a line! Thanks Dawn

That is a great question! A while ago when I was taking a variety of dance classes (including your wonderful class)I would say for the first time in my life I experienced a level of joy I had not known before! It is hard to put into words why…for perhaps it is a combination of elements. It is a feeling of freedom! And in some styles of dance there is a level of personal expression and a connection with the choreography and music.
You are a truly wonderful teacher and a beautiful ballerina! I want to find some time to come back to your classes, you are very inspiring and your knowledge so vast. Your classes are a joy and a true learning experience!

Dear Lovely Masako,
It is such a delight and an honor to have you in the class with your baby becoming more visible every week!
It reminds me of my early days of learning ballet… one of my teachers was also with child and
she danced until about 2 weeks before the baby came! It was amazing- she did not jump
too much in the last few months but she was there every class and she did say that she felt
as though she had a much faster recovery after her baby was born(as compared with the
stories she heard from her friends). I look forward to seeing you grow and to meeting your child
on the outside!!!
Sincerely,
Dawn

I enjoyed your class yesterday too! You always cheer us up. I noticed your sweet message today, Thank you very much!
I had lesson in Tokyo until 5 days before my son was born in 2007.
I visit my ex-boss in Boston this weekend and I thought I would skip your class, but you said there was no noon class!
I’m looking forward the next time!

Dawn, I think your idea for a tip of the week is excellent. I would love to see something on how to execute a turnout or pointed foot for someone like me who has neither (if that’s even possible).
Thank you and I love your Sunday noon class!!

Yes to video tips! Some (not all) things that are currently perplexing to me, in no particular order:
-Retiré
-En Boîte (I suspect this relates somehow to attitude…?)
-my nemesis, the Grande Jeté
-Walking gracefully (this is the hardest of all!)
See you tomorrow!

Hi Dawn!
Can you ask other students and teachers if they know where I might take some adult ballet classes in Jerusalem, Israel? I ideally, I would love to find adv beginner/intermediate classes similar to those offered at Steps.
If I were truly lucky, I would find someone as dedicated, professional, energetic, and nurturing as you. But I will settle for a decent class that will keep me moving and keep my muscles from atrophy over the summer.
Thank you so much for posting and spreading the word!
xx,
Susan
